UNIT 2 Half Way Blog

Throughout the entire first unit i have absorbed so much information pertaining ti different types of genres but we didn’t go to in depth with it. This unit really expresses how different things are and just how specific they have to be in order to have that certain label. I never really looked at a children’s book and wondered why this was for children and what makes it a children book.  The same goes for the back of a cereal box, I didn’t notice how specific certain genres were and that they were even considered genres for that matter. Genres have never felt so alive and visible until I was taught that everything can be considered a genre.

  1. I like that you brought up the genre of the "cereal box." It's funny how writing--in really any context--has some pretty specific rules and norms. I would like to see a bit more thought and expansion on this--chech out a classmate's blog or come talk to me if you have any questions.
